All Iranian airlines in the red

All airlines are making losses and their revenue from ticket sales is negative (spending more than they earn), says the head of the Iranian Airlines Association, Abdolreza Mousavi.
A translation of his remarks made at a recent press conference, as reported by the Mehr news agency, is as follows:
The Ticket Sellers Association has become the go-to authority for providing statistics despite having almost no connection to the civil aviation industry. The members of this association go to parliament and to the government, and monopolize the limelight.
National airlines do not seek to flourish, as they focus on providing services. We have 333 airlines, of which more than 50% are grounded.
We will have to compromise on flight safety if we cannot solve their economic problems. In fact, black market ticket prices will skyrocket and infuriate people. Right now, the time to buy a ticket is long and that’s because the planes are grounded.
