Iranian envoy: Tehran ready to invest in Afghanistan

Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan Bahador Aminian held talks in Kabul with Taliban Foreign Minister Molavi Amir Khan Mottaqi.
During the meeting, Aminian described economic problems as the common enemy of Iran and Afghanistan. He said Tehran was ready to invest in Afghanistan’s energy, transport, mining, trade and health sectors.
Mottaqi also said the Taliban was ready to cooperate with Iran in different areas.
He called for efforts to resolve the problems of Afghan refugees in Iran.
Meanwhile, the Iranian president’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Hossein Kazemi Qomi, told Russian news agency Sputnik that the stability and security of the region and of Afghanistan’s neighbors are linked to the country situation.
Kazemi Qomi was speaking after attending a meeting in Russia on Afghanistan. He said that a stable Afghanistan will be conducive to the stability of its neighbors and that any instability in the country will spill over to countries in the region.
The Iranian envoy also said that all countries should help Afghanistan get out of the current situation.
According to Kazemi Qomi, only the Afghan people can choose their government. He expressed the hope that the will of the Afghan people will prevail in the determination of the government of the country.
