Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., discussed ongoing Middle East issues during his “Sunday Night in America” appearance with Fox News host Trey Gowdy.
President Biden recently received widespread criticism for an image of him punching Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after the former previously insisted on treating the country as a ‘pariah’ for the death of a journalist in 2018. Cotton agreed that Biden’s trip was mostly unsuccessful, he added that the US relationship with Saudi Arabia is more complex than one might think.
“Well, the Saudi government and the Trump administration addressed the regrettable murder of Jamal Khashoggi four years ago. What we have to realize, though, is that Saudi Arabia has been a partner for 80 years. they a perfect partner? No, but no And if we only took perfect partners, we wouldn’t have partners or allies. It’s a dangerous world out there. It’s not a picnic of “Church. We take our allies where we can find them. Saudi Arabia, like so many other Arab countries, have been reliable allies against Iran, which to this day chants ‘Death to America’.” Cotton said.
He continued to criticize Biden as being particularly incapable of maintaining a proper relationship with Saudi Arabia.

“And for 80 years, American presidents from both parties have found ways to work with Saudi Arabia. Joe Biden comes in but says he’s going to treat them like pariahs and ostracize them. And it’s no surprise that he hasn’t accomplished much I hope he can find a way to work with the Saudi government in the future as he is working more and more closely with other friends we have in the region , like Israel, who are trying to resist Iran’s campaign of terror and imperial aggression. It would make us all safer,” Cotton said.
More importantly, Cotton noted, was the need to treat Iran as a true adversary, which he claims Biden failed to do properly.
He explained: “The contrast between Saudi Arabia and Iran is good. There is a simple difference between these two countries. Saudi Arabia is pro-American and Iran is anti-American, and Joe Biden since his Senate debut in the 1970s has been a blame for America-first Democrat.”
BIDEN TO REPORTER ASKING IF HE REGRETS MBS FIST BUMP: ‘WHY ARE YOU NOT TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING IMPORTANT?’
“He and other Democrats like him always blame America first, and they side with so many resistance nations around the world who they believe are resisting American power. That’s why Barack Obama and Joe Biden have come to terms with Iran over the past 15 years even as under Barack Obama’s watch and now under Joe Biden’s watch, they have let Iran rush in with nuclear weapons,” Cotton added.
Although Biden pledged never to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and promised military forces “as a last resort,” Cotton suggested he had more faith in Israel and its Arab allies to maintain a threat against the ayatollahs.

“Joe Biden may be willing to let Iran be just a turn of the key left from a nuclear weapon, I suspect Israel is not, and whoever wins their election later this year, I suspects he has the united support of the people of Israel and his new government and not a few Arab nations as well He needs to take military action against Iran and he’s probably a much more credible threat to the ayatollahs than Joe Biden finally and reluctantly saying that he would use military force to prevent Iran from getting the bomb,” Coton closed.
